On May 15 I arrived at Atlanta International Airport, Then I
travelled by train to the Discovery Mill Mall wich is located
about an hour away from Atlanta city. At the Discovery Mill Mall
I met three locals (Mike, West and Rob) who worked at the X-Games
skatepark, they were really friendly.
The X-games skatepark was very slippery, the street course was
great, it had some transfers, grind boxes, handrails, a miniramp,
and big banks, not to mention that you could find two big vert
ramps outside.
On May 16 I skated a private session, while I was training you
could see Pat Chanita, Mike Santa Rosa and other profesionals
doing their own thing.
On may 17 the street contest took place, everybody ripped specially
the brazilians. Only ten skaters advanced to the finals (but none
of them were me, well next time I'll have more luck) and one of
them was Rodil Jr who killed the course with swich tailslides,
big 360 flips, swich frontside lipslides and so on.
On may 18 the street finals took place, it was very excited everybody
killed it but only three took the podium and they were #1 Rodil
Jr, #2 Carlos De Andrade and #3 Dan Pageau. After the street finals
I went to a concrete park wich is was like an hour away from the
X-games skatepark this park sucked balls once again the guy or
guys who designed it didn't know what they were doing, well we
like always tried our best.
Definitively it was a very fun trip, if you guys go to Atlanta
don't forget to check out the X-games skatepark it really worth
the drive.
This is it guys, sorry I missed the vert contest!well next time,
see you guys......
